Emily Schehlein is an ophthalmology resident in her final year of training at the Kellogg Eye Center of the University of Michigan. She is originally from Baltimore, Maryland, and will complete her fellowship training in glaucoma in July 2022. Her research in glaucoma is focused on cost-effectiveness, environmental sustainability, surgical methods, and electronic health record implementation.
Schehlein is the author of multiple articles in high-impact journals, as well as book chapters. She has written and illustrated a children’s book, “My Sister is a Chameleon,” which is available on multiple platforms. Additionally, Schehlein serves as a reviewer for several high-impact ophthalmic journals and manages the popular Instagram account, @OphthoGals.
