Pathik P. Amin, OD, FAAO
Dr. Pathik Amin is a Visiting Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at the Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary, University of Illinois Chicago. He is an attending provider in the Glaucoma Service. His clinical practice specializes in the diagnosis and medical treatment of glaucoma. Dr. Amin earned his optometric degree from the University of Houston and completed a residency in ocular disease at the Albuquerque VA Medical Center.
Dr. Amin’s research focuses on exploring ways to improve glaucoma adherence, patient access, and disease outcomes through earlier diagnosis and multi-faceted interventions. He is actively working on several multi-institutional glaucoma research projects, was the recipient of the 2022 Bucksbaum Institute National Research Grant and has received funding from the Illinois Society for the Prevention of Blindness.
Dr. Amin is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (AAO), serves on the executive committee for the Academy’s Glaucoma Section, and is a member of the Optometric Glaucoma Society (OGS). He serves as a reviewer for Ophthalmology Glaucoma, Nature, and Optometry & Vision Science. He has obtained certifications through the AAO Foundation for the Cochrane Eyes and Vision Program and the Clinical Investigator Program.
